A Little Odd Forest

I recently stumbled upon LittleOddForest and I have to say that anyone who sells “Snotty Bird Bags” is okay in my book. LOF, as it is known by its devoted fans, is run by Singaporean designer Lynda Lye who describes her work as “odd and colorful things with spunk and personality.”

Lynda’s creative background (she’s an alum of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago) has definitely served her well, with fantasy-inspired accessories that include “Forest Tree Trunk” wristlets and “Chirpy Bird” coasters.

Most of her items are limited edition and make use of vintage fabrics, giving everything a familiar look and feel. The Love-Baboon Wallet (above) uses generous amounts of corduroy (so that’s where my old pants went) while the Unicorn Tote is lovingly hand-made from cotton canvas and retro-inspired fabric. You can even carry around your loose change and stash your sweets with the Little Mogu Pouches, which are mushroom-shaped purses with polkadot fabric and cotton-twill stems.

My faves, however, are her Huggables - a truly precious collection of plush trees, mushrooms, and yes–even shrubbery. Each Huggable is bed/pillow worthy, with Lynda’s trademark mix of varied fabrics including cotton/polyester fabric, acrylic felt and synthetic filling.
