Print Post bags & wallets by dogwoodlane

Driven by a desire to be unique, Sally Broadaway began making her own bags and wallets; of course the problem with being good at making things is that sooner or later everyone else wants one too! Thankfully Sally has been generous enough to share her handbags, although true to her roots each one is handmade; she’s no fan of big labels or designer-y products.

A stay at home mom with a little girl, she has a knack for choosing vintage patterns and then adding precisely the right contrasting colors to make each of her pieces really pop. Sally sticks with vintage fabrics, trim and buttons in order to make sure each piece is as unique as possible; hunt around and you’ll see little touches like magnetic snaps, fabric buttons and darling brooches.

I find it particularly cute that her daughter (she’s 3) is a natural muse; in fact it was while playing sidewalk chalk in the driveway that Sally first sketched out her Everyday Bag. Her store, DogwoodLane, has only been around since January but she’s already had quite a reception from the Etsy community; I’m therefore delighted to feature her and hope that you’ll take a look at her Etsy store!
