octopusme jewelry

The owner of OctopusMe is new to Etsy but I can already tell that she has a bright future ahead of them; a graduate of Jewelry School, her work is organic and raw with little twists of creativity that make each piece shine. Her swimming stingray earrings are handcast in sterling silver and feature a beautiful radiating pattern, but my favorite is her Optimism ring which features fused raw casting grains and a ruby set in 14 karat gold.

mint conspiracy plushes

I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of furry plushes, but Mint Conspiracy’s adorable plushes have given me a change of heart. I really like the way these are made–there’s a certain lifelike quality to them that I can’t quite put my finger on. Even the huskier monsters with the buckteeth are pretty cute!

the art of angela vandenbogaard

Angela Vandenbogaard’s watercolor artwork literally jumps out at you, and a peek into her profile reveals why: she loves using bright, high contrast colors. While this can be misconstrued to be childlike, I find her work to be quite mature and even elegant. Above: The Turning is about the gradual changing of leaves through the seasons and serves as a metaphor for aging and renewal, while Armour D’arbre uses warm and cool colors to represent a man and a woman coming together in love.

five finger pottery

There is a pristine simplicity to Five Finger Pottery’s work, which makes a lot of sense as they are made in America’s Last Frontier: Alaska. Examining her work you’ll find a fair amount of detail; coiling vines and dribbled dots, the occasional swirl; but what I most like is the antiqued look of her glazes.

Candis has a knack for finding amazing paper goods; these gift bags at The Gift Bag Factory are MUCH nicer than anything I’ve seen at chain stores.

clutches and handbags by tortilla girl

Becky calls herself the Tortilla Girl, but I think she could also pass as a renaissance woman; a former lawyer turned fashion designer, illustrator and patternmaker, she makes fabulous clutches and handbags from her home in France. Many of her fabrics are sourced from French textiles companies and are therefore limited edition.
