elizabeth fiedel’s artwork

Elizabeth Fiedel’s artwork straddles somewhere between the dark and the light, so much so that I feel that her work is very much reminiscent of dawn and dusk. What I’m chiefly referring to are the colors; they’re strong but slightly muted, enough so that there is a definitely surrealistic quality to her art.

Of course, it’s not just the colors; her regular use of soft edges and shading, as well as gentle, lazy curves has a soothing, mesmerizing affect on me. I hope I’m not putting you to sleep with all this dream-like talk; as they say, pictures are worth a thousand words so I encourage you to visit her Etsy shop and have a look for yourself.

I have Beth’s art in my home, and I have purchased her work for presents. When I tell you that you don’t begin to even appreciate it until you see it in person, I am understating. Magickal, truly.

I love the way she is able to get the look and feel of soft pastels from arylics. I was recently lucky enough to see two in person. AMAZING!
