featured site + diy: cut out + keep

A special thanks to Whip Up for bringing this site to my attention: Cut Out + Keep is a treasure trove of DIY projects, all of them simple enough for even all-thumbs types like myself to handle. Every project comes with a very helpful difficulty meter as well as an indication of how long it will take; many of them only take minutes to execute. I’ve gone through their collection and hand-picked a few of my favorites for you:

Ribbon Labels: I’ve always wondered how so many crafters make customized labels for their creations; this project shows you exactly how to do it, and it only takes 10 minutes!

Coco Lip Balm: Mmm, nummy — make your own lip balm in twenty minutes with vaseline and cocoa!

Foam Stamps: This project is amazingly simple but I definitely can see myself making lots of fun art with this.

Binding Books: I never thought much of what goes into traditional bookbinding until I saw this tutorial. You need to do a few measurements but the materials amount to little more than cardstock and dental floss.

Geisha Flowers: I absolutely LOVE these flowers but always thought them to be too difficult to make. Granted, the best flowers indeed take quite a bit of skill–but it’s nice knowing that I can make a pretty darned good version myself.
