Print Post kristin pavelka’s pottery

Kristin Pavelka’s pottery has a quaint and soft European style to it, like something you’d see in a tiny Dutch cottage. In fact, Kristin hails from Minnesota and is a former pre-med student who made the intuitive leap to ceramics. Her use of light, subtle colors is what I’m most attracted to; I also like that she’s not afraid to mix things up by adding irregularities into her cups and bowls.

Kristin describes her style as candy-like and functional, with a very wide array of influences that include everything from 50s kitsch to Martha Stewart. This is perhaps why it’s difficult to put a single finger on her art, yet it still retains an evident consistency; if anything, I think this is the hallmark of a talented designer creating her own style. I really think Kristin deserves more attention, so I encourage you to stop by her store here.
