red panda chainmaille

Alright, picture a knight in medieval armor; no not the solid breastplate type, but the chain mesh type. Not exactly what you’d make jewelry out of, but that’s exactly what Jessica has done: and curiously enough, it looks amazing! I guess when you put two and two together, it makes perfect sense; chainmaille, as it is known, is made out of hundreds of interlinking circular rings–sounds a lot like jewelry, doesn’t’ it?

Jessica apparently had the same idea and with her shop, Red Panda, has taken chainmail to entirely new levels. She’s not just selling metal chains; her jewelry is considerably lighter and also integrates different elements and colors to make each piece really shine.

Perhaps my favorite pieces can be found in her Unjewelry section; it’s not that it’s not jewelry, more so that it’s unusual. Jessica makes full use of the looping nature of chainmaille and brilliantly blends in different colors and textures; the overall effect is both sexy and edgy. If you’d like to see more of her work, stop by her Shopify shop here!

One of my first creative loves was wire. Even though I don’t create with it much anymore, I love it SO much that I search for it online. Lucky me, I found red panda. Beautiful, inspiring, creative work!
