Print Post the world of malota

Malota’s work can be described as quirky, from her vibrant, somewhat offbeat choice of colors to her oddly but adorably shaped creatures. I first came across Malota’s wonderful felt dolls, which are her own take on the familiar “face in an animal jacket” design; the overall effect is cute but somewhat strange, which I absolutely love.

In addition to dolls, Malota’s works translate easily into other mediums including buttons and mixed media art. Her Little Village buttons have a nice retro feel to them, while her Circle Paintings on wood are a great way to get up close and personal to her artwork. Although not for sale, I can’t get enough of this painted cap that she made!

Above are covers from a series of children’s books; the artwork (minus the book’s titles) are for sale here. I particularly like the way she balances low saturation shades with spots of bright, eye catching colors; quirky, but cute! For more pictures like this, I encourage you to stop by Malota’s LiveJournal blog, her Flickr galleries or her online store.
