Print Post studio a la mode jewelry

Victorian-era art has always had a special place in my heart, although it’s actually more due to Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea than anything else. My science fiction proclivities aside, Studio A La Mode’s jewelry has just the right touch of ornate 19th century sensibility, with beautiful cabachons and beads mixed with metals such as brass and argentium silver.

It is perhaps the natural brass that is most commonly seen amongst Studio A La Mode’s work, and it is an appropriate one. The metal is innately semi-lustrous with an antiqued color, such that these pieces are eye-catching but in a way that is simultaneously elegant and earthy. This is the kind of jewelry that is not meant to be merely observed, but touched and caressed, and in this sense it has a unique humanity to it.
